Stavros Refuge: Coffee with a View of the Aegean

At 950 metres on the road to Prionia, the Stavros refuge offers one of the best panoramic terraces in northern Greece.

Stavros Refuge: Coffee with a View of the Aegean

You do not need hiking boots to enjoy a mountain refuge on Olympus. The Stavros refuge (Dimitrios Boundolas) sits right on the asphalt road from Litochoro to Prionia, at about 950 metres altitude.

Its terrace looks east over Litochoro, the Pieria coastline and the open Aegean — at sunrise and after sunset the view is simply spectacular. The refuge serves coffee, drinks and simple mountain food all day.

We include a Stavros stop in most of our Olympus tours; it is the perfect photo-and-coffee break between Litochoro and Prionia.
